Our principal and staff

Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.

Welcome to Maroubra Bay Public School.

Welcome to Maroubra Bay Public School – a vibrant and caring learning community where every student is known, valued and cared for.

At MBPS, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that nurtures confident, happy learners who are encouraged to always do their best and follow their dreams. Our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Care are reflected in every aspect of school life and underpin the positive and inclusive culture we are so very proud of.

We are a dynamic school located in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, currently serving over 280 students from richly diverse backgrounds. With over 35 cultural groups represented, 39% of our students come from language backgrounds other than English, and we proudly support 30 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 115 EAL/D learners.

Our dedicated and experienced staff work collaboratively to ensure that every child is supported to achieve their personal best. Through a strong focus on explicit teaching and evidence-informed practices, especially in literacy and numeracy, we create safe, engaging classrooms where students are challenged, inspired, and supported.

We are proud to offer a wide range of targeted support and enrichment programs, including High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE), intervention programs, and data-informed monitoring of growth for all students. The wellbeing of our students is prioritised through whole-school initiatives such as Grow Your Mind and Bounce Back, ensuring that social-emotional development is embedded in our culture.

We also provide a variety of extra-curricular opportunities including DanceSport Confidence, PSSA sport, Artist in Residence, Public Speaking and Debating, and our unique whole-school Garden Program. These programs allow students to explore their creativity, build teamwork skills, and connect with the natural world.

As a school, we value strong partnerships with parents and carers. We believe that education is most effective when schools and families work together. We actively engage our community in understanding student learning, and we make decisions that reflect the voices of our students, families, and staff.

Our current strategic directions focus on:

  • Student growth and attainment
  • Student, staff, and community wellbeing
  • Educational leadership

These guide our commitment to high expectations, equity, and excellence for every student.

We invite you to visit our school and experience firsthand the warm, inclusive, and high-performing culture that defines Maroubra Bay Public School – a place where students learn, grow, and thrive.
