Ballroom Dancing
Ballroom Dancing at Maroubra Bay Public School has had a long and successful relationship. Starting back in 2006, students have had the opportunity to be taught by Australia's best ballroom dance teachers.
Each
alternate year, all students from K-6 have the experience of
participating in weekly ballroom dancing lessons. This program goes for
ten weeks and leads into a concert at the end of the year. Recent
concerts have been held at the UNSW in Kensington.
Regardless of the year, students in Years 5 have the opportunity each year to participate in the DanceSport Challenge. This annual event is held at Homebush and has an inclusive component for all students and schools as well as a competitive section for the elite dancers from each school. Maroubra Bay Public School has a long and proud history of success at the DanceSport Challenge.
