Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

We do this through:

We also use the following programs

At our school, we participate in the DanceSport Confidence program, which combines dance lessons with valuable life skills. Students learn a variety of dance styles in a fun and supportive environment, while also developing confidence, teamwork, respect, and resilience. The program encourages students to step outside their comfort zones, work cooperatively with others, and celebrate their achievements. DanceSport Confidence not only builds physical coordination and fitness, but also helps foster positive relationships and a sense of accomplishment for every participant.

At our school, we take part in the Grow Your Mind program, which teaches students about mental health, resilience, and emotional wellbeing in an engaging and age-appropriate way. The program uses stories, activities, and games to help children understand how their brain works and how to look after it, including learning about key brain functions and ‘feel-good’ chemicals like dopamine and serotonin. Through Grow Your Mind, students develop skills in self-awareness, empathy, gratitude, and optimistic thinking, helping them build strong relationships and a positive mindset for both learning and life.

Bounce Back is a positive education approach to wellbeing, resilience and social-emotional learning. It teaches the students to 'bounce back' when they experience sadness, difficulties, frustrations and challenging times.
Bounce Back!
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) in Australian schools is a whole-school framework that promotes safe, respectful, and responsible behaviour to support student wellbeing and learning. It focuses on explicitly teaching behavioural expectations, recognising and reinforcing positive behaviours, and using consistent responses to problem behaviours. Schools adopting PBL use data to guide decision-making and develop strategies tailored to their community. The aim is to create a positive school culture where students are engaged, relationships are strong, and learning environments are predictable and supportive.
